Oktoberfest in & around Carlsbad, CA

Sep 29th 2014

Raise a glass, because Oktoberfest is coming to Carlsbad and La Mesa!

On October 4, the Carlsbad Rotary Oktoberfest is kicking off a traditional German dinner, courtesy of Tip-Top Meats of Carlsbad. There will be bratwurst sausage, sauerkraut, and potatoes, not to mention World Famous Apple Strudel! Plus there will be food booths offering everything from hot pretzels to kettle korn.

In addition to the food, there will be music, dancing and plenty of family-friendly activities such as pumpkin decorating, face-painting, an antique fire truck and more. And for the adults there will be fine beers and wines.

Click here for more information and mark it on your calendars. It promises to be a great time, whether or not you’re wearing lederhosen.

La Mesa:

The Oktoberfest fun doesn’t stop! La Mesa is celebrating the season October 3-5 with food, music and more in what promises to be a fun occasion for the whole family.

The first La Mesa Oktoberfest was celebrated 41 years ago, and the event has grown from a small street fair to a weekend-long festival with over 200 vendors and 200,000 attendees. Make sure you get to enjoy some German brats and cold beer!

The entertainment this year will include 11 year old musical prodigy Marissa Grace and the Bavarian Beer Garden Band, performing at various spots throughout the weekend, and the Bonified Brass who will be there on the Saturday only. Families will be happy to hear that the Kid Zone will be returning for children aged 12 and under.

Located along La Mesa Blvd, this event is a huge deal every year, and a great way to help celebrate the fall season. Click here for more info.
